Yesterday’ saw a fierce debate inside the government, concerning the opportunity to include the new measures asked by the ECB and the EU in a new decree or rather in a new amendment to the financial law (the difference being the only in the latter case the Parliament may be able to change them). The government opted for the amendment solution. Il Sole 24 Ore today (p.3) attributes the following words to Minister Calderoli, commenting of the (lost) fight: “When one lowers his pants, he must be very careful to guard his back because the fearesome “padass birds” are flying around ” (the padass is the bird that flies at the level of your ……”)
