The map comes from the Syrto (Systemic Risk Tomography) Project developed from a paper I wrote together with Roberto Savona and Marika Vezzoli on Early Warning for Banking Crises. By putting together a large network of European Universities and International Financial Institutions, mainly thanks to Roberto’s work , the project received EU funding and now covers risks in Sovereign, Banking and Corporate sectors (I am in the Scientific Board of the Project).
